Tech explanations

If we're referencing a technology you're not familiar with, we hope the explanation is here.

Del.icio.us

(http://del.icio.us) is a "social bookmarking site" through which people can save and share web pages they find, using "tags" to categorize them. The block in the sidebar of our site shows the most recent items tagged "postcarboncities". If you use del.icio.us, please feel free to tag items that would be of interest to Post Carbon Cities readers! This is also available as an RSS feed: see the "Subscribe to PCC" block at the bottom of the page for the feed URL.

RSS

RSS stands for "real simple syndication", and is a way of publishing web content that does not require readers to visit a site regularly to see what's new; the things they want to read are compiled for them to read all in one place. To use RSS, you need to choose an RSS reader. Some are web-based, like Google Reader, some can be built right into browers like Firefox, and some are standalone programs, like Feedreader.
